Stalkscan reviews your facebook details available

Image
Web: Facebook’s privacy tools arenotoriously complicated and constantly changing. Stalkscan is a third-party tool that can find and highlight any information that’s publicly visible for a particular profile. Despite its creeptastic name, Stalkscan is perhaps best used as a self-audit tool, rather than a way to track someone else. For starters, you need the full link to a person’s profile. Enter the profile URL in the search box and the site will give you quick links to a bunch of searches for things like that person’s pictures, videos, or likes. While it sounds scary, all of this information is drawn from public Facebook searches. In other words, if you go to Facebook right now and search for “Pictures of [X person]” you’ll get the exact same results as if you click the Pictures link on this site. You’ll only see photos that are visible to your privacy settings. So, if you’re searching for the profile of someone you’re not fr...

Facebook to get to two billion user.... Due to a impressive fourth quarter

Image
Facebook is continuing to grow at an impressive rate and is set to reach 2 billion users this year. The companyannounced its fourth quarter 2016 and full-year earnings on Wednesday and, as usual, it smashed expectations. In its most recent quarter, Facebook’s total revenue spiked by 51 percent year-over-year to hit $8.81 billion — the great majority of which ($8.6 billion) came from advertising. Facebook’s quarterly profit hit $3.57 billion, up 128 percent from the $1.56 billion it posted a year earlier. Further breaking down its ad revenue, Facebook continues to capitalize on what COO Sheryl Sandberg described as a shift to mobile. Overall, mobile advertising revenue represented 84 percent of ad revenue in the fourth quarter, up from 80 percent in the fourth quarter of 2015. Just as impressive are Facebook’s increasing user numbers. With each passing month, the social network is inching ever closer to its next milestone of 2 billion users. As of December 31 2016, the platform’s...

Facebook are putting more effort to make there privacy clearer

Image
revamped page, announced in a blog post on Thursday, is now mobile-friendly and includes 32 interactive guides in 44 languages. The privacy controls themselves haven’t changed — users can still customize the audience for each post and run through a “privacy checkup” of their accounts — but the layout is cleaner and easier to navigate than theprevious version. Facebook announced the redesign on Data Privacy Day, with the company saying in its blog post that it is “working to raise awareness of how to take charge of your information online.” None of this actually changes the ways in which Facebook shares user data with advertisers, but at least its help page looks prettier. Get colourful with facebook background design

Image
Are you tired of that boring black and white text on Facebook? Do you long for the days of MySpace where you could throw caution to the wind and just paint your profile page neon green? Well, you can't quite do that, but Facebook has introduced a new feature that could let you do the next best thing: adding background color to your posts. To do so, tap the "What's on your mind" question (also known as the the empty text field) and start writing. You'll immediately see a color palette option below. Tap your favorite hue and, voila, your Facebook post will be bathed in color as in the image above. Right now, the feature is only available to Android users, but anyone on Facebook should be able to see those stylized posts. It's rolling out to the world starting this week, so get ready for your timeline to be  way  more colorful, whether you like it or not.

Instagram now boost 600 million users.. With 100 million users joining this few months

Image
Instagram is touting the success of its recent stream of updates as an important factor in helping it snap up an additional 100 million users over the past six months. As a result, Facebook’s photo-sharing platform now has a total user base of 600 million. Comparatively, that’s almost double the amount of users Twitter currently has (317 million). Although, Snapchat is a better comparison, considering the similar features the two now boast — especially since Instagram started cloning its younger rival’s sharing functions — the temporal messaging app has thus far only disclosed its daily active users, which at last count stood at 150 million. Instagram, on the other hand, boasts 300 million daily users. This time round, however, it did not disclose if those figures received a bump, instead focussing on its monthly active user base. So, what’s behind the continuing interest in the photo-sharing app?According to Instagram: “a...

Fake new reporting option has been added in Facebook

Image
Facebook has been getting dragged hard since November 8th -- and rightfully so -- given the unprecedented amount of shitposts and fake news that dominated the social site in the months leading up to the election. After his initial defense of "nuh-uh, wasn't us" fell on deaf ears, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg hasdecided to do something about it. The company has begun hitting fake news sites in the wallet, as well as scrubbing BS content through both curation andautomation. And, on Sunday, Facebook appears to have quietly rolled out a third method: a new user-reporting feature that specifically calls out fake news for what it is. Update : Turns out that the false news option has been active on the site since last year. Now, when a user reports a post in their timeline (after selecting "I think it shouldn't be on Facebook" option), they are able to select "It's a false news story" from the subsequent screen. Notice that it is specifically diffe...

Spotify ain't purchasing SoundCloud

Image
Just a couple of months ago, rumors indicated Spotify was negotiating to acquire fellow music streamer SoundCloud. Now,  TechCrunch  reports hearing from a source that those talks have ended and Spotify is walking away. According to the  Financial Times , Spotify has considered this deal twice before and ended negotiations because it couldn't agree on a price. This time, however,  TechCrunch  says the sticking point is due to Spotify's potential IPO plans and the licensing headache that could arise from acquiring SoundCloud's remix-heavy catalog. Of course, if Spotify does go public this year, it's possible the deal could be on the table again afterward. Source:  TechCrunch, Financial Times

Google cut down app update by 65% but there is still a problem

Image
There was a time when updating an app required downloading a whole new version of that app, even if you already had parts of it. These days, however, updating an app really only requires downloading, well, the parts that are different. Google has been figuring out ways to reduce update sizes over the past four years or so and on Tuesday, announced it devised a way to reduce app updates by 65 percent. The way Google does this is somewhat complicated. Android apps are basically ZIP archives that make use of a few special standards. The archives themselves are compressed to be smaller using a technology called Deflate, which certainly makes the app smaller, but also makes it hard for the changes in updates to be identified. Google, however, is now taking a different approach, which it calls file-by-file patching. This approach basically makes it easier to find changes in an app and implement those changes in a new Android APK. Check out the data savings Google has been able to ...

Zuckerberg show behind the scenes tech that the company is developing

Image
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg just offered up a behind-the-scenes look at some seriously cool tech that his company is developing for its various platforms. The social network’s founder took to Facebook Live to play around with some of the prototypes and updates built by the firm’s engineers during this month’s Hackathon. The new tools include a location request feature for Messenger, GIFs for Facebook comments, and offline messaging, among others. Zuckerberg was joined by chief technology officer Mike Schroepfer and chief product officer Chris Cox, along with a number of other execs, for the live-stream — which was jokingly described as Facebook’s version of  American Idol . The proceedings started with a modified version of Oculus Touch: the new controllers for Facebook’s Oculus Rift VR headset. The demo device that Zuckerberg played with in the video (for the “first time”) physically turns ...

Facebook and other tech giant cooperate to fight terrorists contents online

Image
Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter and YouTube today announced they would cooperate on a plan to help limit the spread of terrorist content online. The companies said that together they will create a shared industry database that will be used to identify this content, including what they describe as the “most extreme and egregious terrorist images and videos.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg outlines new ways to stop fake news problem

Image
Ever since the end of the presidential election, the spread of rumors, misinformation and outright fake news on social media has been in the spotlight. With even President Obama speaking out about social media's role in pushing propaganda, and some coders taking matters into their own hands with browser extensions, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerbergposted tonight about what his company is doing. According to Zuckerberg, "We do not want to be arbiters of truth ourselves, but instead rely on our community and trusted third parties." Last week, Zuck's line was that over 99 percent of content on Facebook is authentic. Now, he still maintains that there is only a "small" amount of misinformation, but outlines seven points describing programs the company is implementing in response. That includes plans we'd previously heard about to cut off income for fake news sites from its advertising and making it easier to report fake news stories when they pop up. Another po...
