The Sturridge Statement

Image
Just when you think Daniel Sturridge is done with being a goal scorer he hits back with a bang and has just indirectly told his manager that he is here to stay. This season even though sturridge starts as a centre striker he is usually seen playing out on the flanks during matches and left many in the premier league community wondering what is his role in this Klopp era team. With two goals against the toughest defence this season in the EPL this season  he sends his team to the quarter final of the English football cup and he increased his league cup goal tally to eight in nine games.   A report by SkySport noted that Liverpool have been more effective without their marksman this season but the former Manchester City Man has just begun to silence those rumours as it  is sure Jurgen Klopp will take him more serious than ever. Klopp showed faith in the arsenal of young  players he has as he debuted his 17th player since taking control at Anfield . Elsewhere Arsenal triumphed over Rea

London vs Manchester

Image
The stage is set as what can be described as the el Classico of The Premier League is about to go down today as Manchester United take on Chelsea.  As we all know what makes this interesting is the fact that former Chelsea outspoken boss Jose Mourinho is the Coach of Manchester United. The will be a match that all parties in the premier league will have eyes on as both teams who are powerhouses have had disappointing performances in recent seasons and have poor run of forms in their last few games. Another factor that makes this interesting is the fact that Chelsea has taken more points in their clashes with United and most of those points came under Mourinho reign as Chelsea Manager, now the question is whether  Mourinho can set a new record against Chelsea with Manchester United. Paul Pogba is another talking point of this match as everyone is wondering what position he will played in thus match as we all know that Pogba finding his groove means bad business for Chelsea whose manage

Mikel Obi was Mobbed by Zambia girls

Image
It took the intervention of security men to rescue Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi from the clutches of Zambian girls who wanted autographs and selfies from the handsome Chelsea player. After leading the Eagles to stun the Chipolopolo 2-1 in the World Cup qualifier at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, the bevy of beauties laid siege for the Nigerian captain as he made his way to the post match conference. He obliged some but they screamed and shouted for more. The police had hectic time separating them. mikel Obi Moments after the conference, the girls defied the police and swarmed on the Nigerian captain, some crying. Interestingly, the Police who were meant to protect Mikel also added to the problem as they too held him back to snap pictures with him. A Nigerian official had to explain to the police that the Nigerian team were leaving straight to the Ndola Airport which closes by 5 p.m. As he zig-zagged through the crowd, shouts of Mikel rented the air.

I think he is in trouble...

The English Football Association is investigating allegations England manager Sam Allardyce used his role as manager tonegotiate a £400,000 deal and offer advice on how to"get around" rules on player transfers after the Telegraph released a video last night showing him talking to undercoverTelegraph reporters posing as agents from the Far East.Over the course of two meetings which were secretly filmed, Allardyce told the fictitious businessmen that it was “not a problem” to bypass the rules on transfers introduced by the FA in 2008.Allardyce said he knew of certain agents who were “doing itall the time” and added: “You can still get around it. I mean obviously the big money’s here.”Allardyce, who as at the time of filming had not even taken charge of his first England game, negotiated a deal with men purporting to represent a Far East company that was hoping to profit from the Premier League’s billion-pound transfer market.Allardyce will have to explain to the FA whether he w

Reasons A ‘Work Smarter, Not Harder’ Approach Does Not Help at all

Image
I have been a hard worker since my childhood and my parents had trouble making me just sit and relax for a while. Idid not watch TV (I do not watch it these days either). I did not sleep in – I always woke up earlier than my parents anddid tons of stuff they actually should have done. I still spent most of the time playing with my peers and I thought it was not a waste of time.Even now that I have the schedules packed with never-ending tasks I believe that ‘me time’ and ‘time with friends’ are essential. However, I have never dropped my responsibilities just because I wanted to have fun. Yes, it happens once in a while – after all, I am a human being. Butthe point is, I do realize that hard work is still important. Hereis why I think a ‘work smarter, not harder’ approach does not work: 1. Taking long breaks decreased productivity When you are trying to plow through a long pile of work, taking short breaks is a must as it helps you clear your mind, improve your focus and give your tir

Romes bid for Olympic 2024 crashes

Image
Rome is set to drop its bid to host the Olympic Games in 2024, after its anti-establishment mayor said it would be "irresponsible" to be a candidate. Virginia Raggi of the Five Star movement was elected in June. Her decision was a blow for the city's Olympic committee which had hoped to change her mind. But officials said she had failed to turn up to a meeting. Rome last hosted the Games in 1960 and also pulled out of the bidding for the 2020 Olympics for financial reasons. Boston and Hamburg have already dropped out of the running for the 2024 Games. Germany has not hosted a games since 1972, and Hamburg's decision to pull out was made in a referendum. Paris, Los Angeles and Budapest are still vying to host the Games. The remaining candidates must confirm their application and the endorsement of local public leaders by 7 October. Hamburg says 'No' to 2024 Listen: Why don't cities want the Olympics? Why Raggi said no: James Reynolds, BBC News, Rome

Pogba Is Not Responsible For his Low Performances

Image
When Paul Pogba came to Manchester United most people expected him to be a standout performer from day one even though it was said that he abilities do not match his price tag. He was expected to bring individual excellence to the squad but I think what nobody analysed was how would he fit in to the team.   Back at Juventus  Pogba played on the left of a three man midfield and his defence responsibility did not hamper his attacking responsibilities hence he was able to aid his defence  and at the same time assist and score goals. Now that he is in Manchester United he somehow carries the blame for their losses with people saying how he his not scoring or creating chances but I ask how would he do that when he is playing a role that he is not comfortable with. He is being played as a holding midfielder which makes it impossible to balance His attacking and defence duties. Thus it is very clear that United need to restructure their midfield to accommodate Pogba if he is going to be the
