How to straighten your hair without heat

Smooth straight hair is something many people want, but fewhave it naturally. So what are the less fortunate to do? Well,it typically means we have to use heat tools like straighteningirons to force our hair into submission.Unfortunately, those heat tools have a much-unwanted consequence of causing damage to our hair and so we are left with the decision of straight hair or healthy hair. But, nomore. I have found some tried and true tips to get sleek and straight hair without all the damage. Read on and see how this miracle works:

1. Get off to the right start

Getting straight hair starts in the shower and it all depends on the kind of shampoo and conditioner you use. Give your hair a head start and choose one that is made for straight hair. Then after you wash, gently squeeze out as much wateras you can and apply a moisturizing cream or leave-in conditioner to prep your hair for smoothness.

2. Wrap it gently

What you wrap your hair in is just as critical as what you wash it with. In other words, do not settle for just any towel.Use a towel that is super absorbent or even a t-shirt (weird but true). This is going to be gentle on your hair so it will not roughen the cuticle and it will wick moisture quickly preventing damage and frizz.

3. Apply product

I have already mentioned leave-in conditioner and moisturizingcream but after you have towel-dried your hair, pull some gel serum or oil through your strands to tame frizz and smooth your hair. Choose products that specifically mention fighting frizz and that are made for straight styles. Now that you have prepped your hair, there are three techniques that you can try to give you straight hair without all the damage:

4. Brush, brush, brush

After gently squeezing your hair with your towel, brush it down and then give it a good tug at the ends with your hands. Repeat these steps every few minutes until it is mostly dry then smooth an oil over your hair to for sleek and shine.

5. Toca

If brushing your hair repeatedly does not sound like fun, try this old technique. First, dry your hair with cold air until it is almost dry. Then, grab sections and pin them around your head in a wrapping circular pattern. You can then sleep on itfor the night and you will wake up with hair that is silky straight.6. Roll it upAnother technique that works is to use jumbo rollers on long hair. After drying your hair gently with a towel, wrap sections around rollers and secure them with clips on each side. Velcro and foam rollers will work but plastic is the best choice if you are wanting a smooth outcome.
